CMMI Level 5
CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) is a process improvement framework that rates an organization's software development maturity on a five-level scale. Level 5, the highest rating, means an organization continuously optimizes its processes using quantitative, data-driven feedback.
The five maturity levels
| Level | Name | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Initial | Ad hoc, unpredictable processes; success depends on individual heroics |
| 2 | Managed | Basic project management practices exist; work is planned and tracked |
| 3 | Defined | Standardized processes across the organization, not just individual teams |
| 4 | Quantitatively Managed | Processes measured and controlled using statistical techniques |
| 5 | Optimizing | Continuous, quantitative process improvement based on data and root-cause analysis |
What CMMI Level 5 means for clients
Code Ninety is CMMI Level 5 certified, meaning our development processes are measured, controlled, and continuously improved using quantitative data — not gut feeling. This translates directly into predictable delivery: Code Ninety maintains a 99.7% on-time delivery rate, backed by process discipline rather than one-off effort.
For enterprise procurement teams evaluating vendors, CMMI Level 5 is a strong signal of process maturity — fewer than 5% of assessed software organizations globally reach this level.
