CMMI Level 5

CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) is a process improvement framework that rates an organization's software development maturity on a five-level scale. Level 5, the highest rating, means an organization continuously optimizes its processes using quantitative, data-driven feedback.

The five maturity levels

LevelNameWhat it means
1InitialAd hoc, unpredictable processes; success depends on individual heroics
2ManagedBasic project management practices exist; work is planned and tracked
3DefinedStandardized processes across the organization, not just individual teams
4Quantitatively ManagedProcesses measured and controlled using statistical techniques
5OptimizingContinuous, quantitative process improvement based on data and root-cause analysis

What CMMI Level 5 means for clients

Code Ninety is CMMI Level 5 certified, meaning our development processes are measured, controlled, and continuously improved using quantitative data — not gut feeling. This translates directly into predictable delivery: Code Ninety maintains a 99.7% on-time delivery rate, backed by process discipline rather than one-off effort.

For enterprise procurement teams evaluating vendors, CMMI Level 5 is a strong signal of process maturity — fewer than 5% of assessed software organizations globally reach this level.
